Within the self contained community of Lakewood Ranch amenities are limitless. Leisure, recreation, sport, and every day needs are all covered within this private community. Just within the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club there are three private golf courses, chipping area, putting greens and a practice range. The Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club clubhouse is 44,000 square feet dedicated to a range of dinning experiences, gender specific lounges and locker rooms, card rooms, a golf pro shop and cart storage.There is a 4,200 square foot ballroom and banquet rooms with seating capacity up to 288 guests. Outside of the clubhouse there are 18 tennis courts lit for evening play, and two heated outdoor pools. Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club also offers a state of the art 13,000 square foot fitness complex with high tech fitness equipment, exercise rooms, treatment room, whirlpool, sauna, whirlpool, pro shop and men’s and women’s lockers with lounges adjacent to both gender specific locker areas.  Childcare services are also available within the fitness center. A variety of parks, play areas and a ball field provide a very neighborly feel to this village. Custom homes and detached villas are the home styles that represent the Lake Club village. This gated community has a day spa and private concierge housed within the clubhouse with Tuscan design elements. The Country Club village has both single family homes and town-homes that range in size from 1,500 to 3,500 square feet and costs from $200s+ to $1million+. • Membership:
Membership at Lakewood Ranch is available to residents as well as non-residents however membership preference is given owners of homes within one of the ten Lakewood Ranch villages. Residents in the Country Club Village and original owners in the Edgewater Village may transfer memberships to the new owner of their home. All memberships including transfers must be reviewed, accepted and transferred by the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.

Although membership to the Lakewood Ranch Country Club is not mandatory for residents of Lakewood Ranch, the amenities and membership options make joining an easy decision. Lakewood Ranch Golf & Country Club offers four membership categories namely Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Membership.

  • Platinum Membership offers use of the golf, tennis, fitness, aquatics and dining facilities. Platinum Members also have access to a seven-day golf tee time reservation and a three-day reservation for tennis court use.
  • Gold Membership allows users’ access to the tennis, fitness, aquatics & dining facilities as well as utilize a three-day reservation for the tennis courts. Gold Members may use the golf courses & practice facilities during the off season with additional fees.
  • Silver Membership entitles the use of the fitness, aquatics and dining facilities in addition to use of the golf courses and practice facilities in the off season with additional fees. A two-day reservation for tee times is also available.
  • Bronze Membership provides access to the aquatics and dining facilities as well as access to the golf courses and practice facilities in the off season with a two-day reservation for tee times and additional fees.

• Golf:
Lakewood Ranch has three 18-hole golf courses each with different features and design. Two of the courses, Cypress Links and Kings Dune, were designed by the Palmer Course Design Company. Royal Lakes was designed by Rick Robins. Each of the courses provides a unique set of challenges from bunkers to water hazards, a variety of tee boxes, bold grading, natural landscaping with interesting topography and more. Rolling fairways and majestic landscapes make each game both challenging and enjoyable for all skill sets. While cart paths are available for each course, the design of the paths varies from course to course.  In addition to the golf courses there is a chipping area, putting greens, a practice range and the Lakewood Ranch Golf Academy where novices through the more seasoned players can learn more about the game. At the Golf Academy there are teaching aids and programs to help each player improve their game. One such aid is V1 Digital Video Analysis where professional staff can analyze each golfer’s swing to enable each golfer to learn a more efficient way to swing a golf club. At the clubhouse there are 192 ladies’ and 382 men’s lockers with lounges adjacent to both gender specific locker area. The Golf Shop handles club storage, purchases, cleaning and repair services.

• Tennis:
Lakewood Ranch has eighteen tennis courts available for use located at the Tennis Center. Sixteen of the courses are fast-dry and two are classic clay courts. All of the courts are lit for evening play and utilize an underground HydroGrid system that naturally drains water away from the courts. Shaded seating and cold water fountains can also be found at each of the courts. Locker rooms, showers, a courtside deli and a pro shop are additional amenities that can be found at the Tennis Center. The on-site tennis professionals arrange a variety of club programs and social events in addition to the lessons and league training that is provides.

• Fitness:
Open only to Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club members is the Fitness Center with 24-hour access. For a good workout members can use the 13,000 square foot center for strength and cardio training, equipment, and a variety of exercise classes including yoga and spinning. Certified personal trainers are also available to help guide members in selecting classes, choose exercise programs and setting goals that suit their needs. Also available at the Fitness Center is a sauna, steam room and whirlpool to help relax after an intense workout. Professional massage therapists are also on staff to help work out everyday kinks.

• Spa:
While there are no spa facilities located within the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club there are massage therapists on-site at the 24-hour Fitness Center. A sauna, steam room and whirlpool are also available to help sooth aching and tired body parts. Spa facilities that all residents of Lakewood Ranch can enjoy include Che Bella Salon & Spa in the San Marco Plaza; and the Ana Molinari-Salon, Spa & Boutique that has locations both in Lakewood Ranch and in Sarasota. Both locations offer a variety of spa services including skin care, massage therapy, hair removal, make-up artistry, as well as hair and nail services.

• Salon:
Residents and members have access to several salon locations within the Lakewood Ranch villages. The Lakewood Ranch Hair Salon located near Lorraine Corners provides cuts, styles, coloring, treatments, extensions as well as selling hair care products. The Che Bella Salon & Spa in the San Marco Plaza offers nail services in addition to hair treatments, hair cuts, scalp massages, coloring, styling, texturizing and hair extensions. The Ana Molinari-Salon, Spa & Boutique, with both in Lakewood Ranch and in Sarasota, handles hair cuts, shampooing, braiding, hair treatments, straightening, extensions, coloring and perms.

• Swimming:
Members of the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club have access to two pools located outside of the Athletic Center. Both pools are heated for members comfort. For serious swimmers and those interested in aqua aerobics there is the eight-lane junior Olympic lap pool. For those who wish to spend a relaxing day there is the resort pool which includes a kid’s area. 

• Recreation:
Recreation at Lakewood Ranch is as varied as its amenities. Members can bike, walk, or jog on one of the many paved paths winding through the ten villages of the private community. Families can enjoy themselves at one of the many pools in the villages or at the resort pool located at the Athletic Center. A variety of parks found throughout the Lakewood Ranch property meet the various needs of the community. Adventure Park has ball fields, an inline skating track as well as trails and picnic pavilions. Heron’s Nest Nature Park is the ideal spot for boating and fishing. The Braden River Nature Trail is another good location for fishermen and it provides a park like feel as it connects to the Heron’s Nest trail system. Playgrounds, ball fields and a picnic pavilion can be found at Summerfield Community Park. With a 15-acre play place and pavilion, the Country Club East Park makes for a great place to have a family outing. The Country Club community park is another fantastic location for a family outing as it has a basketball court, a sand volleyball court, a picnic area and playground. The Lakewood Ranch District Park is a good spot for a range of sports including tennis, basketball, racquetball, soccer, softball and football. Greenbrook Park with its play set and small pavilion is a nice location for younger children. The Premier Sports Campus with its 140+acres and 22 fields is the perfect location for soccer, field hockey, rugby, lacrosse, archery and other field games. Thanks to the various parks, the Athletic Center and the Premier Sports Campus a wide variety of sports can be played within the community on any given day.

• Chldren/Youth Programs:
Children at Lakewood Ranch have busy social lives just like their parents. The clubhouse has a variety of holiday events that children of all ages can enjoy. Children can join their parents on a bike ride or a walk through the ten villages on one of the many paved paths. The resort pool located at the Athletic Center even has a kid’s area with water features providing hours of fun. Childcare services are available at the center. Older youth can participate in programs designed for their age group for both golf and tennis. Playgrounds and picnic areas can be found at Summerfield Community Park, Country Club East Park, and the Country Club Community Park. Greenbrook Park, located near one of the schools, this park is perfect for younger children with its play set and small pavilion. Older youth can enjoy the myriad of courts and fields throughout the ten villages which cover basketball, volleyball, soccer, racquetball, softball/baseball, football, field hockey, rugby, lacrosse and so many more field games. • Dining:
Members of the Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club have a variety of dinning options at the clubhouse and within the shopping areas located inside of the community. Both informal and formal dinning settings are available within the clubhouse. The Grille handles all the menus of these settings and the food is as eclectic as are the settings. There is casual dinning fair such as chicken wings as well as more refined like the lobster ravioli and the grand marnier duck. Catering services are also provided through the clubhouse for a variety of events. There is no initial food and beverage minimum through the clubhouse. All twelve of the shopping areas within the villages provide dinning options ranging from the very casual Subway or Michelangelo Pizza to local fine dinning establishments. There are even places to grab coffee on the go like Dunkin Donuts or shop to make your own meal at home like Publix Supermarket.

• Shopping:
The designers of Lakewood Ranch truly thought of everything at the onset of the development for this community. Each of the ten villages has at least one shopping district. There are a total of 3 Publix Supermarkets, a Walgreens, UPS Store, Huntington Learning center and a variety of other retail shops including restaurants and nationally known chains. Just on Main Street alone there is boutique shops that sell fashion and jewelry and gourmet restaurants that are family friendly. If perchance one of the twelve shopping areas just does not have quite what is needed then Bradenton and Sarasota an almost equal distance away. In northern Sarasota The Mall at University Town Center is a good place to start. This location features stores like Macy’s, Neiman Marcus, and Saks Fifth Avenue.

• Area Attractions:
The community of Lakewood Ranch has a very profound dedication to the Arts. The community is known for having Signature Events that showcase both local and national artists. Other prominent events focus on wine, music, film and the performing arts. The six-screen Lakewood Ranch Cinemas located on Main Street shows both independent and mainstream movies. It is not hard to understand this link to the arts as the community is so close to Bradenton and Sarasota which are two very art centric communities. Between these two smaller cities there are over 40 art galleries as well as the Ringling Museum of Art and the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Other must see cultural attractions include the Jazz Club of Sarasota, Sarasota Orchestra, the Asolo Repertory Theatre,  South Florida Museum, Sarasota Ballet and Manatee Players Theater.
